Addis/ADD- Blue Nile Waterfalls – Lake Tana – Gonder – Semien National Park – Axum – Yeha – rock-hewn churches of Lailibela – Addis Ababa – Lake Wonchi-Addis/ADD

DAY 01: Arrival in Addis Ababa

DAY 02: Addis Ababa – Bahir Dar, 560 km

DAY 03: Morning visit to one of Ethiopia’s most famous tourist attractions, the Blue Nile Waterfalls, almost 50 meters high and known as Tis Issat in Amharic, “smoking water”.

DAY 04: Bahir Dar – Gonder, 180 km we drive to Gonder, the 17th century capital of Ethiopia.

DAY 05: [Gonder – Semien Lodge, 130 km From Gonder, our journey continues to the National Park  of the Semien Mountains, one of the major mountain ranges in Africa.

DAY 06: Semien Lodge - Axum, 285 km Today our destination is the legendary city of Axum,   capital of the Axumite Empire that existed from 400 BC to 950 AD

DAY 07: A full day of sightseeing in this fascinating ancient city, with visits to the following attractions:

DAY 08: Excursion to the village of Yeha.

DAY 09: Departure from Axum after breakfast. We cross into Ethiopia’s northern Tigray Region and motor to Adwa, site of a famous 1896 battle in which the Ethiopians defeated an invading Italian army.

DAY 10: Mekele - Lalibela, 315 km drive to Lalibela, inhabited mostly by Ethiopian Orthodox Christians and, like Axum, one of Ethiopia's holiest cities, known as the Ethiopian Jerusalem.

DAY 11+12: Two days of sightseeing in and around fabulous Lalibela, focusing on the local churches, carved from the rock and connected by a labyrinth of trenches and tunnels; they were built in the 12th century.

DAY 13: flight to Addis Ababa. Arrival and additional sightseeing in the capital, including a visit to the National Museum, featuring the remains of “Lucy,”

DAY 14: Excursion to one of the most beautiful sites in Ethiopia, Wonchi Crater Lake, situated in a lush setting at an altitude of 2,780 meters.

DAY 15: Departure
